Pierre Gorsky-Mièze or « Petrus Calculus »

I started learning Latin in middle school, at age 12. My parents had nothing to do with it; I wanted to stay with my friends, who were forced to take the class. Around that time, I discovered Age of Mythology and Titan Quest, and antiquity made me think of sun, sea, and adventure. Very quickly, I always wanted to read the texts aloud when the teacher asked. My friends started calling me Petrus.
At 16, I had to give a presentation on meals in Rome. After a quick search, I came across the website of the VIII Augusta Legion. Since then, I have been involved in historical reenactment. During the Autun/Bibracte/Alesia march, my companions gave me the cognomen “Calculus,” meaning “little stones.”
After three years of preparatory classes in Versailles, I learned to speak Latin and Ancient Greek in Italy. For the past six years, I have been teaching both languages for Oxford Latinitas, giving Latin lessons in a French high school and private lessons. I teach students from all over the world ☀️
